AIA Carlton Local Group
Amnesty International Australia Carlton Group meets at
6.30pm on the second Tuesday of each month, and our
group has a diverse membership of people of different
ages and cultural backgrounds.
We have a number of major fundraising activities
regularly each year such as our famous Curry Night and
Literary Lunch, and we are also increasing our
letterwriting activities in support of oppressed people in
the world. As well as our group activities, we also are
involved in the major Amnesty International campaigns
such as Candle Day.
Our meetings are friendly occasions where we discuss
activities and events which are important to the group,
and we also discuss the major campaigns that Amnesty
International is involved in.
We also collect donated food and basic commodities for
distribution through local refugee centres, and donations
of canned foods, toiletries, household groceries and
used postage stamps can be brought to any of our
meetings.
We always welcome any potential supporters and letter
writers who are willing to help us in the defence of
human rights throughout the world. You are very
welcome to join us and to participate in any of our
activities.
